QuickBooks is an accounting software package developed by Intuit. QuickBooks products are
geared mainly toward small and medium-sized businesses and offer on-premises accounting
applications as well as cloud based version (QuickBooks Online) that accept business payments,
manage and pay bills, and payroll functions. It also supports advanced inventory, payroll and
multiple company setup for many industries.

QuickBooks Terminology:

  •  A version is the numeric notation of the product's release. Examples are QuickBooks
    Desktop 2024 and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 24.0.
  •  An edition refers to the set of features included in a product. Examples are Pro,
    Premier, and Enterprise.
  •  A flavour refers to an industry-specific set of sub-features in a product. Examples are
    Contractor's, Non-Profit, and Retail.
  •  A region refers to a specific location for which the product was designed. Examples are
    United States, Canada, and United Kingdom.

Regions of QuickBooks

• United States of America (US) Region
• United Kingdom (UK) Region
• Canadian (CA) Region and among others
• These differences are only for Financial Software but not POS and are mainly on tax forms.

• US Region; Pro, Premier and QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions with the first two
(QuickBooks Pro and Premier) one-time-payment and subscription for QuickBooks
Enterprise Solutions licence cost. Supports sales tax
• UK Region; Pro, Premier & Premier Accountant. Support VAT.
• CA Region; Pro, Premier & Enterprise on subscription based. Support GST & VAT.

• Track inventory and supports five (5) maximum concurrent users.

QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions

Enterprise Solutions contains all the features and functions of QuickBooks Premier Editions and
builds on those with additional powers that make it easier to use QuickBooks as your business
grows and multiple company set up.
• Enhanced reporting customization.
• Sophisticated inventory capabilities.
• Expanded user and security controls.
• The amount of data that can be held in QuickBooks lists is enlarged to accommodate large
business data
• Setting up user permissions to specify what each user can do and see is greatly expanded,
making it easier to hide sensitive data without limiting the day-today work of each user.
• Forty (40) maximum concurrent users for US & thirty (30) for CA and are sold on
subscription basis for both CA & US.
• More users can access the company file simultaneously; Enterprise Solutions has built-in
support for Windows Terminal Services and Linux servers.

QuickBooks Point of Sale (POS)

QuickBooks POS is a powerful platform that enables users to track sales, vendors, customers and
inventory effectively and quickly. Available in three versions; the Basic Level, Pro Level and the
Multi-Store Level. QuickBooks Point of Sale is created to bolster businesses’ customer service and
meet their needs. It tracks the customer’s information and comes with a variety of features to
keep improve customer loyalty and retention and encourage repeat sales.

QuickBooks Online

• QuickBooks Online has many features and advantages that QuickBooks Desktop does not
offer. Once you make the change to QuickBooks Online, it is important to understand the
features available to you by being in the cloud and the feature availability based upon your
subscription level; QuickBooks Online Simple Start (1 User), Essentials (2 users), Plus (5
users) and Advanced (25 Users).

have read and write access. Note that, there can be some degradation of performance with a
large number of users.
Tally Prime Gold can be activated on one computer and accessed from any or all computers on
the network. 

It has the below features and configurations;

  • Perform Ghana Payroll calculations and track cost center expenses
  • Masters – creation for accounts & inventories information
  • Creation of accounts, inventories groups and ledgers, Voucher entry

Tally Prime Silver (Single-User)

Tally Prime Silver (Single User) is a license for one machine only, which will manage the basic
accounts, inventory & essential reports. The license can be converted to Tally Multi User anytime
as the business grows.
Supports Ghana Payroll, multiple company creation and inventory location
It can perform all the task of Gold Edition but limited number of users.
